Background of the Study
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in supply chain management, offering new capabilities in demand forecasting, inventory management, route optimization, and risk management. MTN Nigeria, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the country, operates a vast supply chain that includes the procurement of equipment, maintenance of infrastructure, and delivery of services. The company faces numerous operational challenges, including the need to manage complex logistics, forecast demand accurately, and optimize resource allocation across its supply chain.
In Kaduna State, where MTN Nigeria has significant operational presence, the adoption of AI could revolutionize how the company manages its supply chain processes. From optimizing the distribution of network equipment to improving service delivery, AI offers solutions that can increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This study aims to explore the role of artificial intelligence in optimizing MTN Nigeria’s supply chain operations in Kaduna State, assessing its effectiveness in driving operational improvements and creating value for the company.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the potential benefits of AI in supply chain management, the implementation and integration of AI into MTN Nigeria’s supply chain operations have been met with challenges, including technical barriers, resource allocation, and the need for skilled personnel. In Kaduna State, where operational conditions differ from other regions, the application of AI in optimizing supply chain functions remains underexplored. This study seeks to address the gaps in understanding how AI can be applied effectively to enhance MTN Nigeria’s supply chain operations in Kaduna State.

1. To examine the role of artificial intelligence in optimizing supply chain operations at MTN Nigeria, Kaduna State.
2. To assess the impact of AI on operational efficiency in MTN Nigeria’s supply chain in Kaduna State.
3. To identify the challenges and limitations in implementing AI in MTN Nigeria’s supply chain in Kaduna State.

Research Hypotheses

3. Challenges in implementing AI do not significantly impact the effectiveness of supply chain optimization at MTN Nigeria, Kaduna State.
Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in optimizing MTN Nigeria’s supply chain operations in Kaduna State, particularly in areas such as demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics optimization. Limitations may include access to AI implementation data and technical challenges in evaluating the success of AI adoption.
